Seit 1998 wird auf der Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)der Game Critics Awards für die besten Spiele verliehen.
Die Preisvergabe erfolgt von einem von den Organisatoren unabhängigen Gremium. In dem Gremium befinden sich
vom Wall Street Journal über die Gamespot, IGN oder Gamesradar bis zu Blogs wie Joystiq.
